Mold?! Ew! Store Sensitive Items In Climate Controlled Storage

The temperature outside is lovely! We welcome summer and its fun activities. However for items that are sensitive to temperature fluctuations, please consider renting climate controlled storage. Let’s talk about mold: mold generally does not grow in cold environments. Molds grow best in warm, damp, and humid conditions, and spread and reproduce by making spores.

At Somersworth Storage, we use all reasonable efforts to maintain a temperature in our three-story climate controlled building by heating in the winter to no less than fifty degrees (50°) Fahrenheit and cooling in

the summer to no higher than eighty degrees (80°) Fahrenheit. All reasonable efforts shall be used to maintain humidity at approximately fifty-five percent (55%) relative humidity. So, this temperature controlled environment is not ideal for mold growth. If you need storage for wood furniture, fabrics, paper and other sensitive items, please do your research and take care of your precious items!

Our climate controlled building, located on Route 108, is 10 minutes from Route 16, 6 minutes from Dover and Rochester, and a 20 minute drive from Portsmouth. The climate controlled building has unit sizes for everyone; from tiny to huge! Our smallest unit is a locker sized – 5x5x4 and our biggest is a garage sized – 10x25x10. Come see us!
